1,000 US military veterans to receive housing payment assistance from The Home Depot Foundation in honor of Veterans Day

atlanta, November 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — In honor of Veterans Day, the Home Depot Foundation will surprise 1,000 American veterans nationwide with rental and mortgage payment assistance for the month of December. Many of these veterans had previously faced homelessness before securing permanent assisted housing in facilities operated by longtime foundation partners including USVETS, America’s Volunteers and Quest Communities.

$2.5 million Two Habitat for Humanity will empower allies nationwide to carry out 130 critical home repairs for veterans through the International Repair Corps Program.
another $1.6 million The grant will fund an integrated, new program that joins the mission of the Home Builders Institute (HBI) and Habitat for Humanity. Grant Brings HBI and Foundation Path to Pro Program, which, among other initiatives, provides free skilled trade training and certification to segregated service members at or near 10 military bases, with local housing partners around the base.
