Release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is fast approaching, and now Call of Duty’s Instagram has revealed a major change to the third-person mode that players can expect ahead of launch.

Modern Warfare 2’s third-person mode was available for players to test during last month’s beta, and while the mode mostly worked well, constantly switching to first-person perspective for aiming was a bit jarring. Using player feedback, the third-person mode was just one of the many areas that it was Infinity Ward has posted it would be adjusted before the game’s release, but specific details of the changes were not given.

Now, a new post he made the official Call of Duty Instagram account has revealed some top tips for playing Modern Warfare 2, revealing that a post-beta update to third-person mode will require only a scope over 4x zoom to activate first-person ADS.

This change is a significant upgrade over the beta version of the mode, as regardless of which optics were used, the scope would automatically switch the view to first-person mode. The only way to avoid changing sight was to shoot from the hip. Players will now be able to aim in a traditional third-person style, with the first-person view only necessary when using a scope with 4x magnification or higher.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on October 28 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Those who have a digital pre-order of the game will receive it early access to the Modern Warfare 2 campaignstarting sometime on October 20th. In addition, Activision announced the whole Modern Warfare 2 campaign reward set which players can earn for completing the campaign during the early access period.
