EAST NAPLES

A 21-year-old man was arrested after deputies say he shot someone after stealing their cell phone.

Markinson Telusnord faces charges of robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to an arrest report.

The shooting happened on Wednesday. The location of the shooting was redacted in the arrest report.

The arrest report states the victim was on the phone outside his home when Telusnord approached him and took his phone and ran away. The victim chased him, but Telusnord turned and fired a shot that pierced the victim’s torso. The victim collapsed to the ground and found his way back to his front porch, where he was later rescued by deputies and EMS.

Deputies were called to an East Naples home Thursday after a suspicious call about a man sitting behind the residence. There they found Telusnord and watched him throw something.

Deputies recovered a black Taurus revolver that had been reported stolen out of Collier County. They found two Apple iPhones and a black and white mask at Telusnord.

One of the phones belonged to the victim, deputies determined.

Telusnord denied ever having a gun, ski mask or phone before requesting an attorney, according to the arrest report.
