Gotham Knights limited to 30FPS on consoles, will not have a mode
Gotham Knights will be limited to 30FPS and will not include a performance mode for consoles when it releases later this month.
The news was confirmed by Gotham Knights executive producer Fleur Marty via Discord. Here, Marty explained that “because of the types of features” included in the game, adding an additional mode option wouldn’t be “as simple as lowering the resolution and increasing the FPS.”
Marty pointed to the “very detailed” open-world setting and its loose co-op gameplay as two of the reasons the upcoming game “doesn’t have a performance/quality toggle”. She concluded by confirming that Gotham Knights will run at 30 FPS on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 (the developer previously confirmed that it has canned the planned PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions games).

For those playing on PC, however, this will be 60 FPS. You can see the minimum specifications required for the PC in the tweet below.
Meanwhile, following the early release of some copies of Gotham Knights, there have been several instances of gameplay footage being prematurely uploaded online. Much of this footage has already been removed by the developers, but it’s worth noting in case you want to stay spoiler-free ahead of the game’s official launch later this week.
Here at Eurogamer, our own Chris Tapsall had a hands-on preview with Gotham Knights earlier this month. At this point, he described the game’s four heroes as “good.”
“That’s faint praise, and I don’t want to be too harsh on Gotham Knights when we’re still a few weeks away from launch,” he explained. “But at the moment it’s stunning and underwhelming in terms of actual substance rather than technical performance – it looks nice enough and ran without any issues when we played through the streaming platform Parsec [but] what’s missing is a sense of conviction”
