Gotham Knights will not have performance options on consoles and runs at 30 FPS

Warner Bros.‘ co-op Batman title Gotham Knights it will not include performance options and will run at a maximum of 30 FPS, it has been confirmed.

The game’s executive producer Fleur Marty shared the news on the game’s Discord server on Friday, claiming that the decision was due to “the kind of features we have in our game,” such as a loose co-op and a highly detailed open world.

“I know many of you are wondering about the availability of a performance mod for Gotham Knights on consoles,” Marty wrote.

“Because of the types of features we have in our game, such as providing a completely untethered co-op experience in our highly detailed open world, it’s not as simple as lowering the resolution and increasing the FPS.

“For this reason, our game does not have a performance/quality overlay option and will run at 30FPS on consoles.”

Gotham Knights is scheduled for October 21 for PS5, Xbox series X and PC.

Gotham Knights is developed by WB Games Montreal and is led by creative director Patrick Redding, who previously directed Splinter Cell the titles Condemnation and Black List.

It was originally scheduled to be released last year before delay to provide “more time to provide the best possible experience for players”.

In May, Warner said is no longer scheduled to publish previously announced PS4 and Xbox One versions of Gotham Knights to “give players the best possible gaming experience.”

VGC recently played a a few hours Gotham Knights and said: “Gotham Knights has impressed us in our limited time with it, and has us desperate to walk across the rooftops of Gotham once again.

“It’s not Arkham, but it really doesn’t try to be, which is the game’s greatest strength, but that doesn’t change the fact that in the eyes of many, the game has an almost untouchable gaming legacy to live up to.”
