How to update Google Play Store on Android

How to update Google Play Store on Android

  • Your Android device should automatically update the Google Play Store and all Android apps.
  • To update the app manually, open the Settings menu in the Play Store and go to the About app section, then tap Update Play Store.
  • You can configure the Play Store to automatically update all apps using the network settings in the Play Store Settings menu.

Normally, your Android device updates your apps and operating system regularly and automatically without any action on your part. This way you always have the latest software with bug fixes and security updates on your phone or tablet. But sometimes you might want to install an update right away, before your phone starts doing automatic updates.

This can especially apply to the Play Store, an important application that is, among other things, responsible for managing and updating all other applications on your device. Or maybe the automatic update setting is disabled and you want to turn it back on so you can automatically update everything again. Here’s what to do.

If your auto-update option is turned off, you’re putting your Android device at risk because you’re not getting all the latest updates and security fixes for apps on your phone or tablet right away. If you don’t want to manually check for app updates, you can configure your Android device to update all apps automatically.

1. Run it Play Store application.

2. Tap yours account icon in the upper right corner.

4. Touch Network settings and then tap Automatic application updates.

5. In the pop-up window, choose whether to update Only via Wi-Fi connection or Over any network (which will also update via your mobile connection).
