Indiana Homeowner Assistance Offers Free Mortgage Foreclosure Counseling
Indiana The Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network (IFPN) was established to provide free mortgage foreclosure counseling and education to homeowners who have defaulted or are at risk of mortgages on their homes.
IFPN is supported by nine US Department of Housing and Urban Development certified network agencies. Agencies work with homeowners to develop a comprehensive and personalized home retention or exit plan. In addition to working with the borrower, the agency acts as a liaison between the borrower and their lender.
Since 2011, IFPN has provided free counseling services to over 15,000 families in the state of Indiana. All existing IFPN agencies were instrumental in assisting IHCDA in providing $250 million of Hardest Hit Fund assistance to Hoosier homeowners between 2011 and 2021.
In March 2022, IHCDA launched the Indiana Homeowner Assistance Fund (IHAF) program. Network agencies have provided counseling to over 6,000 homeowners under IHAF. Homeowners can apply for counseling services and mortgage assistance here www.877gethope.org,
