Piper Sandler suggests that the high use of the ‌iPhone‌ among teenagers bodes well for Apple’s utility products, as well as for the continued refresh of the product cycle.

We believe increased penetration and intent are important given the mature premium smartphone market. In addition, these trends are encouraging as the company continues to introduce new iPhones, which could provide a significant refresh of the product cycle. We think these positive trends can also be a catalyst for further service growth as the install base of Apple hardware continues to grow.

The Apple Watch is less popular, with only 31 percent of teens owning an Apple wearable device, but the Apple Watch is by far the most popular smartwatch among teens. 36.8 percent of teens said they own a smartwatch, so only 5.8 percent own a smartwatch that isn’t an Apple Watch.
