Mark Wahlberg has taken the $87.5 million mansion off the market as interest rates soar
The Post has learned that Mark Wahlberg has taken his Beverly Hills property off the market after realizing this might not be the best time to sell.
Records show that the “Father Stowe” actor bought the plot in 2009 for $8.25 million. He then spent years building his dream Mediterranean villa with his wife, Rhea Durham, which was not completed until 2014.
Sources say that due to rising mortgage rates, Walberg, 51, realized it wasn’t a buyer’s market — and decided to hold on to the house a little longer.
Interest rates are at an all-time high as part of today’s economic reality, with a 30-year fixed rate mortgage now at 7.7%.
Wahlberg, 51, initially listed the 30,500-square-foot mega house in April against a house A whopping 87.5 million dollars. At the time, interest rates were at 5.3% – still fairly high compared to previous years.

The Post has reached out to Wahlberg’s representatives for comment.
Consisting of 15 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, the home is filled with amenities that include a glass-walled gym, wine cellar with tasting room, a movie theater with seating for 15 guests plus several wet bars, expansive lawns, many mature trees, and a skate park Outdoor, outdoor kitchen, golf green, cave style pool with waterfalls and formal gardens.
In 2017, Wahlberg installed a new patio cover. In 2014, permits for a new hydroelectric elevator were issued.

He also built a tennis bar, pool cabin, and guest house with attached garage, records of permits acquired by The Post Show.
The house sits on 6.14 acres of land and is located high in the mountains above Beverly Hills.
“[It is] This is truly the opportunity of a lifetime to acquire one of the finest real estate in Los Angeles.”
The move to take the house off the market also comes two months after the star paid $15.6 million for about 2.5 acres of bare land inside the sheltered gates of the exclusive Summit Club in Las Vegas. It is not known what he plans to do with the plot, but it could be a similar transformation of his property in Beverly Hills.

Wahlberg, the actor-turned-producer, is set to produce four different films: “Our Man from Jersey,” “The Family Plan,” “The Raven,” and “The Six Billion Dollar Man.”
