Today, the Defense Department announced the authorization of a $275 million security aid package for Ukraine.
Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said the package included:
- Additional ammunition for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System.
- 500 precision-guided 155 mm artillery rounds.
- 2,000 155mm rounds of the Remote Anti-Armor Mine System.
- Over 1,300 anti-armor systems, including AT4 anti-tank weapons and shoulder-launched multi-role attack weapons.
- 125 Humvees.
- Small arms with more than 2.75 million rounds.
- Four satellite communication antennas, including Starlink, to enhance Ukraine’s communications capabilities.
He said allies and allies are also providing security assistance to Ukraine. Spain will deliver the HAWK air defense launchers, and Germany is delivering the IRIS-T air defense system.
“We are extremely pleased that our allies and allies are donating these systems to Ukraine,” she said.
In other news, Singh announced that on October 31, the US Army Pacific would activate its first Joint Pacific Multinational Preparedness Center in Hawaii.
It is the first combat training center set up by the Army in more than 50 years and the first combat training center for the Indo-Pacific region.
He said the first rotation would include several thousand soldiers from all US military services, including the Coast Guard, as well as participants from Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
“JPMRC increases joint training opportunities for regional allies and partners and creates significant cost savings compared to relocating personnel and equipment to continental US training facilities,” she said.
