Paul Dano Says DC Put ‘Tracking Device’ On ‘Batman’ ‘Special Binder’ To Prevent Leaks – Deadline

Movie studios try very hard to keep stories from their movies out, and superhero movies are known to take secrecy a step further. Paul Dano talks about his time recording The Batman and a “special binder” that had a “tracking device” to keep everything secret.

“Don’t lose this. Put it in your ‘special folder,’ Dano said GQ Hype. “But this was the first time I had a folder with a lock code. Then they added a tracking device.”

Dano was the Riddler in the Matt Reeves film and shared credits with actors such as Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell.

The actor also revealed how he copes with fame after participating in the film DC Comics film, which he is glad to experience now than when he was younger.

“I would be less willing to do a film like The Batman when I was 25,” he told the magazine. “I think it would be really hard for me to do all the press and get the recognition. And I can handle that now. The biggest difference now is that I want it more clearly, honestly. Like: I want to be an artist, and I want to be an actor, I want to be a director, I really want to make my next movie. And, um, I guess I want to be a comic book writer?”

Dano developed the backstory of his villain to help portray him in the film that Reeves encouraged him to make into a comic book. That comic is now a reality and Riddler: Year One has six issues and will be released on October 25.
