Placer County is moving its universal benefits system to BenefitsCal.com

Auburn, Calif. – On October 31, Placer will join dozens of other California counties in transitioning to a new, easy-to-use universal public benefits system. With this change, the current MyBenefits CalWIN (MyBCW) public portal will change to a new website: BenefitsCal.com.

This will be a new easy way for community members to apply, review and renew health insurance, food and financial assistance benefits. BenefitsCal will make it easier than ever to apply for benefits online, upload documents, report changes and renew benefits. Switching from MyBCW to BenefitsCal will not affect customers’ current benefits, but they will need to create a new account to use BenefitsCal after October 31st.

Supported software applications

The BenefitsCal website will support applications for CalFreshMedi-Cal/County Medical Services Program, CalWORKsGeneral Relief, Disaster CalFresh, and the Immigrant Cash Assistance Program.

To accommodate the transition, the call center and Human Services offices in Rocklin, Auburn and Tahoe will be closed after noon on October 26th and all day on October 28th. There will also be two weeks of modified opening hours once they arrange and call the Center reopened on October 31, details are available on the Human Services website.

Wait times may be affected by the transition as staff adjusts and customer inquiries increase. Customers who may have started an application under the old system should plan to finish by October 26th or will need to start a new application after creating an account in BenefitsCal beginning October 31st.
