Police are asking for help in the case of a collision that killed a pedestrian in Assumption Parish – L’Observateur

A beautiful rose – On October 16, 2022, shortly after 8:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C was notified of a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on Louisiana Highway 998. The accident claimed the life of 54-year-old David Gilbert of White Castle.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Gilbert was walking in the eastbound lane of westbound LA Hwy 998 when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The vehicle left the scene after the collision. The accident is believed to have occurred on October 16, 2022 at 01:30.

Gilbert suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Evidence located at the scene suggests the suspect vehicle was involved in a 2015 Lincoln Continental with damage to the passenger side. The color of the vehicle is not known for now.
