Pre-registration opens in Central Florida for food assistance
ASSISTANCE TO PROPERTY OWNERS WHO NEED TO MAKE CRITICAL REPAIRS ON COASTAL STRUCTURES. SOME NEW HELP WILL BE AVAILABLE MONDAY FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA RESIDENTS IN NEED OF HELP PUT FOOD ON THE TABLE AFTER THE HURRICANE. ADVANCE REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY IN FLAGLER AND ORANGE COUNTIES FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL DISASTER FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, OR D-SNAP. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES FOOD ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES AFFECTED BY THE STORM WHO ARE NOT ALREADY RECEIVING BENEFITS THROUGH THE TRADITIONAL SNAP PROGRAM. Pre-registration opens in Central Florida counties for the nutrition assistance program

In Orange County and Flagler County, pre-registration is now open for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. The program helps provide food for eligible families who are not already receiving SNAP benefits and those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. All applicants must complete pre-registration. Those who apply can choose to complete a telephone interview or an on-site interview at a D-SNAP event. Locations for D-SNAP events have yet to be announced. Pre-registration for Orange and Flagler counties is open Monday, October 17th through Sunday, October 23rd. It starts on Monday at 1am and runs until Sunday at 11pm. Telephone interviews take place from Thursday, October 20 to Sunday, October 23. Telephone interview days are based on the first letter of the applicant’s last name. Phone interview days: Thursday, October 20: surnames starting with A-Friday, October 21: surnames starting with G-NS Saturday, October 22: surnames starting with OZ Sunday, October 23: All surnames
