Tomorrow is the last day to apply for Disaster-SNAP
LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Tomorrow, October 16, is the last day for Lee County residents to register and complete an interview to participate in the Disaster Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP).
D-SNAP provides food assistance to those affected by Hurricane Ian who do not receive assistance from regular SNAP.
How to apply for D-SNAP:
- Pre-book online by visiting MyFLFamilies.com/DSNAP [lnks.gd]
- Certain elements of the application require verification.
- Eligibility can be determined more quickly and easily by providing a state driver’s license or social security number.
- Residents who cannot pre-register online can visit one of the D-SNAP event locations in person when they are open.
- After online pre-registration is complete, applicants must complete a telephone interview by calling the D-SNAP Call Center from 7am to 5pm EST at 850-663-1919
- To qualify for D-SNAP benefits:
- Applicants must NOT be receiving regular SNAP benefits
- Applicants must have lived or worked in a county that was declared a disaster at the time of Hurricane Ian
- Applicants must have suffered loss due to a disaster such as:
- Damage to their homes or self-employed property
- Loss of food
- Decrease or loss of income
- Other expenses related to disasters
- Applicants must meet financial eligibility requirements
