Top Stories: iOS 16.0.3 Released, iPhone SE 4 and Apple TV Rumors, and More

It’s now around mid-October and we still haven’t seen any signs of an Apple media event to unveil the new iPad and Mac hardware, so it’s increasingly likely that the rumors of announcements coming via press releases rather than events are true. The last week of the month could be quite busy with iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura releases and potentially some of that rumored new hardware.

Other news this week included the release of iOS 16.0.3, which brings a number of important bug fixes, while we await the larger release of iOS 16.1 before the end of the month. We’ve also shared some rumors about the next-gen iPhone SE and Apple TV, while taking a look at Google’s new Apple Watch competitor, the Pixel Watch, so read on for all the details on these stories and more!

Apple releases iOS 16.0.3 with bug fixes on iPhone 14 and above

Apple this week released iOS 16.0.3 with several bug fixes. The update fixes several issues affecting iPhone 14 models, including delayed push notifications, low microphone volume during CarPlay phone callsand the camera is slow to start up or switch between modes.

watchOS 9.0.2 is also out for the Apple Watch and fixes errors related to microphone, Spotify streaming and more.

In other software news, iPadOS 16.1 is expected to be released in the last week of October. iOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura are likely to be released around the same time. Rumors suggest Apple plans to announce new iPad Pro and Mac models also near the end of the month.

The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to have a 6.1-inch display with a notch

The The fourth-generation iPhone SE will have a 6.1-inch LCD screen with a comma, according to well-connected screen industry analyst Ross Young.

Although the new iPhone SE is expected to be similar to the iPhone XR from 2018, it is unclear whether the budget device will be equipped with Face ID or will have a Touch ID power button like the latest iPad Air and iPad mini models. The device is currently rumored to launch in 2024.

Two reputable sources in analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman both claimed that a a new Apple TV could be released later this year.

Google’s new Pixel watch vs Apple Watch Series 8

Last week, Google unveiled the Pixel Watch, a Wear OS-based smartwatch that has a round display and a suite of health-tracking features.
