What you need to know
Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority wants to help you get around the city’s public transit system more easily, and starting Monday, you can use the newly revamped MyJTA mobile app.
The free app just got an upgrade and can be downloaded on October 23 from Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The revamped MyJTA application will replace the existing MyJTA application supported by Passport, which expires on December 31.
JTA also offers all JTA customers free flights to Bus Lines, First Coast Flyer and St. For JTA and First Coast Flyer bus lines, which will be good for the whole month of November.
With the new app, customers will not need to use the JTA See & Say mobile app or the Nextbus mobile app because service alerts and real-time passenger information are included in the app’s latest additions.
The app will allow passengers to purchase fares for JTA, First Coast Flyer, ReadiRide, JTA Express Select, Connexion & Plus bus lines, paragliding services, and St. Johns River Ferry.
MyJTA trip planning tools include:
Real-time arrival information so passengers know exactly when their bus will arrive
Live Directions with Get-Off Alerts for additional step-by-step instructions
Service alerts so customers can avoid disruptions to their preferred routes and can plan accordingly
It collects official information from JTA as well as crowdsourcing information to calculate the best route for each flight
Users can purchase and validate mobile tickets in a convenient and contactless manner using unique QR codes that are scanned on board JTA vehicles.
Once the user launches the app, enters a destination and selects a transportation route, MyJTA will provide step-by-step directions, enable in-app ticket purchases and provide a QR code to validate the ticket.
If you have the current version of the MyJTA app installed on your phone, you must have the auto download settings turned on within your device settings to be notified automatically when the new version is available:
