Unlike the Witch from In the forest, Ray (Gen 2) it’s the Goldilocks of Sonos soundbars—good, nice, and straight. It’s not the most powerful soundbar from the brand, but it’s the best balance of sound and size for most living rooms. Beam supports Dolby Atmos and voice assistants (Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri); it processes faster than its predecessor; and it’s incredibly sleek, whether on your shelf or mounted on the wall.

If the Beam is the best Sonos soundbar for most, the Arc (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is the improvement choice. our home theater setup choices, the incredibly powerful Arc delivers deep bass and clear sound. In certain rooms, the sound can bounce off the walls well enough to mimic a respectable surround sound system. This soundbar is the most expensive in the Sonos line, so it’s a great opportunity to upgrade and save some money in the process.

A soundbar can do a lot to enhance your TV experience, but a subwoofer is a great addition to round out your sound. The sub is pricey, but worth it for the richer bass it delivers. Overall, you get a more balanced sound. If that’s too expensive, check out the newer ones Sonos Sub Mini ($429).

When it comes to a good, old-fashioned, voice-controlled speaker, Sonos One it’s our favorite. It can connect to your virtual assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, adding an extra layer of utility and still offers some of the best sound quality out there. If you don’t want the voice control option, you can disable it Sonos One SL for $159 ($49 off) (The aim)—you’ll get all the goodies of the speaker without any of them privacy concerns.

Taking your tunes on the go? The Sonos Roam SL is a variant of one Our favorite portable Bluetooth speakers. It has all the features and great sound quality we love in the regular Roam (9/10, WIRED Recommends) without voice control. Unfortunately, the wireless charging pad ($49) not included with the speaker, but with the money you save…it’s technically only $17. Sounds like a win-win to me.
