Apple releases firmware update for AirTags
Apple today released a new firmware update designed for AirTag element trackers, with the firmware featuring an updated version number of 2A24e, higher than the 1A301 firmware that was Released back in April.
Apple doesn’t provide release notes for AirTag updates, so we don’t know what’s new in this update.
It is not possible to force an AirTag update, because it is something that is done over the air through a connection Iphone. To make sure that the update takes place, you can put your AirTag in the range of your iPhone, but you have to wait for the firmware to roll out to your device. You can check the current AirTag version with a file find Application with instructions Available at How We Have.
Apple will make this firmware available on a rolling basis, and distribute it to AirTag owners starting today through December 1. This rolling release schedule allows Apple to ensure that a firmware update is working as intended before it is made available to all users.
