Battlefield 2042 is coming to EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate with Season 3

DICE has shared more about its future plans for Battlefield 2042, including news that will be coming to EA Play and Game Pass Ultimate when Season 3 launches in “a few weeks”.

The studio announced in a file Latest update for developerswhich highlights some of the new additions coming to Battlefield 2042 as part of Season 3 and beyond.

Season 3, which has yet to receive an official start date, includes a new multiplayer map, a new specialist, and new weapons – including Bad Company 2’s XM8 and Battlefield 3’s A-91 – as well as a new Battle Pass. It will also make map adjustments for Manifest and Breakaway.

The Manifest renovation arrives first, in Update 3.1 for 2042. Players can expect to see improved cover and visibility – with better lit areas and clearer lines of sight – as well as removal of excess play space and headquarters flags closer to the action. DICE says the flags themselves have received careful attention, ensuring players “have better focus [their] Attack and defense when playing the goal.

In the meantime, Breakaway fixes will be included in Update 3.2 for 2042, currently expected to launch in Part One of 2023. This brings new ice and snow canopies, heavy reworking of the city and nearby foundries, and a relocated oil rig (now closer to action). ), new flags, as well as removing the Outlook flag to create a “more interactive tour than opening”.

3.2 will also see the arrival of DICE’s Specialist and Classes Revamp – which, as its name suggests, reintroduce classes into the game, giving Specialists specific roles and an arsenal of tools and equipment appropriate for their specialty.

After Season 3, DICE has confirmed that pre-production has already begun with “all new content” scheduled for release after Season 4 next year, and has also promised to make further modifications to existing maps with continued post-launch support.

Along with the imminent release of Battlefield 2042 on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play, you will also get a free trial period across all platforms.
