Best Buy offers US early Black Friday deals, here are our picks

Black Friday may be a few weeks away, but there’s no need to wait — Best Buy in the US has some interesting offers right now. Here are some of the best offers we got. As always, we focus on smartphones and tablets, but this time we cast a wider net and include headphones and even some streaming sticks and smart speakers.

Here are some quick links for each category:

Smartphones

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is down to $750 for the 8/128GB unit, with the jump to 256GB of storage at just $50. This is before any trade-in credits, mind you, so the final price may be lower.

The Motorola Edge (2022) is less than two months old and packs a 6.6″ 144Hz OLED display for $500. It comes with a Dimensity 1050, a 50MP main (OIS) and 13MP ultra-wide camera, as well as a 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless charging.

The Motorola Edge (2021) is a good deal cheaper at $300, but comes with a 144” display – the larger 6.8” LCD. Also, the Snapdragon 778 on the inside will give the Dimension a run for its money and you’ll get a 108MP main camera (though no OIS). The 5,000mAh battery has 30W wired charging, but not wireless.

Finally, some cheap options. The larger Moto G Stylus (2021 model) sports a 6.8″ display (FHD+) and comes with a capacitive stylus. The Snapdragon 480 is nothing to worry about, but it does have 5G connectivity.

The Moto G Power (2022) is new, but at only $50 less than the G Stylus, it might not be worth the savings. You lose 5G connectivity and despite the “Power” name, the battery capacity is no bigger than the Stylus – 5,000mAh in both cases.

headphones

Next up – Wireless headphones, because who has a phone with a 3.5mm jack now? The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 is a solid mid-range pick from the TWS sector and comes in a variety of colors to match your phone.

If you want something on the cheap, the JVC Marshmallow+ is down to just $30. There’s no ANC like the Galaxy Buds 2, but there’s basic water resistance.

For those who prefer over-ear headphones, the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless comes with comfortable faux-leather pads and an adjustable headband. They are half now.

pills

Windows tablets can help with work or study – or at home if you can’t always use a desk. The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is a fairly high-end offering at $900, with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 (8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) and a 13″ 2,880 x 1,920px display. It comes with Windows 11 Home.

At the other end of the scale is the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3i—at $200 it’s one of the most affordable 10.3″ tablets you can buy for Windows or otherwise. In this case it is Windows 11 Home in S Mode. It runs on the Celeron N4020 paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (eMMC).

Note that both slates come with a QWERTY keyboard cover.

streaming stick

Roku or Google? 1080p or 4K? You can choose one of the four sticks below based on your answers. The 1080p option is the cheapest way to refresh an old TV with some new smarts—it’ll cost you about $20.

If you want some high-quality streaming, though, 4K is a must (especially since some streaming services lock HDR behind the 4K tier—we’re looking at you on Netflix). In this case the Chromecast is cheaper ($40) and you get the Google TV experience. Which isn’t everyone’s favorite, so you might want the Roku Ultra ($70) instead.

smart home

If you’re entering the Google ecosystem, another $20 could get you a second-generation Nest Mini speaker. It’s good enough to have Google Assistant always on call and even for some music playback.

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essentials is also $20 and could replace your alarm clock. It also lets you talk to Google Assistant, but the display is very basic – like on an actual alarm clock.

Lenovo’s second-generation smart watch is just $15 more, but it’s a good deal more advanced — its 4″ LCD can display information like the weather and has a touchscreen, which simplifies the UI. Plus, the speaker is now targeted for better audio.

The most advanced meta portal of the bunch is the Go – with its 10″ display and front-facing camera you can use it for group video calls as well as control your smart home. For the privacy-conscious, there’s a hardware cover that you can slide over the camera when not in use.
