Echo Show update makes some smart home devices inoperable

Recent update for Amazon Echo Show Make some zigbee online smart home appliances Not operable, including Philips Hue smart bulbs.

Same error and unable to detect if I removed it. I think the update broke the hub. These devices are now essentially non-functional since they were only connected via the Echo.”

The old trick and rebooting does not solve the problem.

Someone named Jen C. introduced himself as an Amazon employee on the Amazon forums replied(Opens in a new window) on Tuesday to say that “Amazon’s technical team is aware of it [people] Having issues with the Echo controlling the Phillips-Hue lights…and currently working on a fix. “

“As soon as there is an update or other guidance available, I will make sure to post it on the topic,” she added.

We’ve reached out to Amazon for an update on this fix and to clarify which Echo Show models are affected. We will update this story when they get back to us.

The problem seems to remain with the Echo Show version 680766720, which is currently not listed Amazon site(Opens in a new window) For Alexa device software updates. It was downloaded automatically for affected devices, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to undo it.
