New disaster area response team truck unveiled for state emergency aid
Lexington, Q. (WBKO) – Burning Barrel Skill Gamesoperated by pace-o-maticKentucky Fraternal Order of Police, and former University of Kentucky and NFL player, Tim Couch, has unveiled a new state-of-the-art Disaster Area Response Team Truck, or DART.
The truck was unveiled at a news conference at The Cue Club in Lexington.
National Trustee for the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police, Shawn Helbig, Dan Jones, CFO of Pace-O-Matic/Burning Barrel, Cue Club owner Wes Jackson and Tim Couch commented.
The Kentucky FOP DART program was created to deploy teams to assist with the delivery of essential services in areas affected by natural disasters.
The new truck, trailer, and equipment will be able to prepare meals for first responders assisting on the scene, ensuring adequate access to food, water, and other aids on site.
“The future can never be known when it comes to things like natural disasters,” said National Trustee Sean Helbig of the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police. “But what we do know is that with this truck, and with this kind of community involvement with Burning Barrel, Kentucky has a fighting chance of finding itself in challenging circumstances next time.”
The Dart truck was funded entirely by a $125,000 donation from Burning Barrel.
The project is part of Burning Barrel’s ongoing efforts, including ongoing disaster relief and preparedness efforts to support Kentucky communities and invest back in the Commonwealth.
“Supporting the communities in which our games are located is important and is part of our Burning Barrel and Pace-O-Matic culture,” said Dan Jones, CFO of Pace-O-Matic. “We see this effort as our way of helping people across the state in their time of greatest need.”
Former University of Kentucky and NFL player Tim Couch also attended the unveiling.
He has made disaster relief response a major focus of his philanthropic efforts.
Tim Couch said, “I am honored to be here today to help Kentucky FOP and Burning Barrel unveil the dart truck and celebrate all the good work it does in our state.” “Communities and businesses are coming together to make a meaningful impact on how we can truly make a difference.”
Since starting their operations just a year ago, Pace-O-Matic and Burning Barrel — its Kentucky distributor — have both donated to a number of charities including volunteer fire departments, the US military, churches and other nonprofits including disaster relief efforts. Have given. ,
Many of the Kentucky skill game operators also support the Kentucky Fraternal Order of Police through monthly donations.
Supporting Kentucky FOP’s DART initiative is just one of many on the company’s ongoing efforts to give back to the communities in which it does business.
