Officials say Iowa teen who made her accused rapist go missing after fleeing a probation center

Officials confirmed that an Iowa teenager who was charged with murdering her accused rapist has gone missing after fleeing her probation center.

Jerry Evans, executive director of the 5th Judicial District, told CBS News in a statement that on Friday, Piper Lewis fled the Fresh Start Women’s Center after cutting off her electronic surveillance tracking device.

“At this time, his whereabouts are unknown,” Evans said. “A probation violation report was filed on Friday recommending the cancellation of his probation. Later a warrant was issued for his arrest which is outstanding.”

Lewis, now 17, was a 15-year-old fugitive and human trafficking victim who was initially charged with first-degree murder after stabbing his accused rapist to death.
