Porsche brings pink back to the ’90s with the Style Edition Boxster and Cayman
Porsche has some of the best colors in the industry. Sure, for a small fortune, the German company will match the color of your car to whatever color you want, but new from the dealership, it also has some pretty nice colors: Miami blue, lava orange, and frozen berries are all pretty cool. Now, Porsche is reviving the shade of the ’90s with a new Style Edition of the Boxster and Cayman models.
Limited Edition Cars Take the Standard 718 Boxster And the 718 Cayman And add, you guessed it, a whole heap of style. On the outside, there’s a new vibrant sapphire star purple finish, which Porsche says is a “modern interpretation” of the star sapphire color used on the 964 Carrera RS.
At the rear, there is a set of black sports exhaust pipes, and a Porsche nameplate painted in brushed silver.
If you’re feeling particularly stylish, Porsche also offers you the optional 718 Style Edition contrast packages. These packs are available in black or white and include decorative stripes on the hood And Porsche logos on the side. The wheels and the rear model are painted black or high-gloss white. Personally, I think the sapphire star finish with white wheels is a great combination.
Other than the exterior updates, the 718 remains the same in its stylish new guise.
Under the hood, you’ll find the same turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder boxer engine Which you’ll find in a regular car, which has a power of 300 horsepower. That’s enough to propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. The top speed of the 718 Style Edition models is 170 mph.
Inside the cars, you’ll find all the usual Porsche details. We’re talking about Apple CarPlaycruise control, automatically dims interior and exterior mirrors, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
On the Style Editions, you’re also treated to a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather, and floor mats with contrast stitching in the light gray Porsche calls chalk. The interior is also finished in black leather with the same light gray contrasting stitching, and the headrests are embossed with the Porsche logo.
The Boxster and Cayman Style versions will initially be launched in Europe before being rolled out globally. Porsche says information on US pricing and dealer availability will be shared in 2023.
