Samsung and Airbus struck a deal to buy 400,000 durable Galaxy devices

Samsung has announced a partnership with Airbus that will see the Korean company provide 400,000 durable Galaxy units for employees of the French Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories. The devices selected were Galaxy XCover6 Pro smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active 3 The tablet, which is particularly suited to the needs of the national police, fire departments and civil security.

The partnership is part of a project led by the French Ministry, called the Radio Future Network (RRF – Reseau Radio du Futur). Its goal is to modernize the communications of local security forces and move from narrowband technologies to 4G and 5G networks, and an alliance between Airbus and Capgemini will roll out the integration in the next few years.

Eric Duffalo, Director of Sales and Programs Europe at Airbus, added that security is a “highly demanding area” and Samsung has established itself as a partner, offering groundbreaking technology that perfectly adapts to the critical interventions of security and rescue forces.

Both the Galaxy XCover6 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active3 are MIL-STD-810H, which means their power is military grade. Durability is a concern but these devices also come with Samsung Knox security solution which adds an extra level of protection to hardware and software from the ground up.
