Splinter Cell gets Splinter sales for the low price of “free”
The Ubisoft Store has quite a few deals on the original Splinter Cell right now. For the low, low price of nothing, you can get the game that started it all. The deal runs until November 30th and is the perfect way to get ready for the upcoming Splinter Cell remake.
The original Splinter Cell, first released in 2002, introduced us to Sam Fisher, a special operations agent with the NSA’s secretive Third Echelon. A former Navy SEAL, Fisher’s dry sense of humor — and Michael Ironside’s acting voice — made him an iconic character from the start. So far, Sam Fisher has starred in six major Splinter Cell games along with appearances in the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series.
Sam’s missions have taken him across the globe, and Ubisoft will update the first game’s story for a modern audience when it’s finally released. The last Splinter Cell game was 2013’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, a brilliant take on the stealth action formula that allowed for more player choice while retaining classic elements of the series like the trifocal glasses and multiple gadgets. Fisher.
Alongside the upcoming remake, an anime series directed by John Wick creator Derek Kolstad is also in the works. A Tom Hardy film was announced years ago, but has remained unproduced.
