How to post a short on YouTube

Shorts are short videos that are basically YouTube’s answer to TikTok. Similar to how you create and publish TikTok videos using the TikTok appYou can record, edit and publish short films directly from the YouTube mobile app.

How to post a short on YouTube

Note: If you are recording your video using the YouTube app, please note that at this time, According to GoogleYou won’t be able to do it on a tablet and you’ll need to do it on your phone.

Step 2: Select a file plus at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: From the list that appears, select Create a short (If you are recording your own video in the app).

If you are uploading an existing video: Choose download the video Alternatively, then choose the video you want to upload. Trim your video if needed and then select next one. Add any extras like filters and text and then select next one. Fill in the required details on the next screen, choose your settings, and then select Download short.

If you choose Create a shortGo to step four. You’ll need to allow access to your phone’s camera and microphone if you haven’t already.

The fourth step: You should see the video recording screen. You can either record a maximum of 15 seconds or 60 seconds. You can switch between these video length options by selecting a file 15 seconds or 60 seconds icon in the upper right corner. When you’re ready to record, select the big red circle register button to start recording. Click on the red square Stop button to stop recording.

This screen also provides some simple editing options on the right side of the screen. Select a file down arrow on the right side of the screen to see all the editing options and the names of each. These options include things like trimming, retouching, adding filters, and adding a green screen effect.

Fifth step: When you’re done recording and editing, select the color white check mark icon. You will then be taken to another screen showing a preview of your video so far. This screen also allows you to do things like add audio clips, text, and filters. When you are done with this screen, select next one.

Sixth step: On the Add details screen, you’ll need to add a caption to your video and select your video’s visibility setting, choose your audience (is it made for kids or not?), and choose the setting you want to handle comments for that video.

Once all of that is done, select Download short To publish your short on YouTube.
