California UBI Payments: Who’s Eligible for These $400 Checks?
A government plan in Coachella, California, United Statescould bring essential financial assistance to hundreds of eligible families in the area.
There is a chance to receive a payment of $400 every month for the next two years for eligible families.
The Coachella Immigrant Family Recovery Program is partnering with the Mission Asset Fund to provide financial assistance to 140 families.
It’s not the money that the recipient has to repay, and people can choose whether to receive it in their checking account or load it onto a card they receive in the mail.
The deadline is approaching, however, as it falls on November 11 at 5 p.m. Eligible families will begin receiving assistance in January 2023.
the mayor Steven Hernandez the statement said, “we have developed a comprehensive universal basic income program that targets our most vulnerable residents.”
“Together with MAF, we intend to make this program a success by changing the lives of these families,” Mr. Hernandez added.
Am I eligible?
Applicants must live in Coachella, be 18 years of age or older, have an up-to-date government-issued photo ID, have at least one child under the age of 12 living in your household in 2021, have earned less than $75,000 in 2021 or have a total household income of less than $150,000 in 2021 and filed a 2019 or 2020 tax return or provided information to the IRS as a non-filer in 2020 or 2021.
Proof of address must be shown when requested along with photo ID which can be a driver’s license, state ID, foreign passport, consular ID or other. You must also show tax returns, birth certificates, school ID cards or other official records for your child.
Applications can only be submitted online at the Mission Asset Fund website.
