JEDEC Announces Publication of SPD5118 Hub and Serial Presence Detect Device and DDR5 SPD Content Specifications
Arlington, Va.–(business wire,JEDEC Solid State Technology AssociationGlobal leader in standards development for the microelectronics industry, announced today’s publication JESD400-5A DDR5 Serial Presence Detect (SPD) Content V1.1. This document defines the configuration contents of non-volatile memory included in all JEDEC standard memory modules and is available for download from JEDEC website,
DDR5 SPD content supports all standard module solutions, including DDR5 SDRAM without buffer, register, load reduce, differential, and compatible non-volatile memory modules used in computer applications, from notebooks through data centers. Have taken SPD allows the host computer to detect the capabilities of the module and optimize the configuration of the memory interface for maximum performance. Example SPD codes are provided for all JEDEC standard speed grades, to assist suppliers and users in the interpretation of material definitions.
The version 1.1 update of the SPD Content Document includes new documentation for multiplexed rank memory modules, and example timing tables for DDR5 speed bins and up to DDR5-7200. This version includes settings for new DDR5 SDRAM features, including refresh management.
“This annual revision of the DDR5 SPD Content Document tracks the latest features of DDR5 SDRAMs, allowing next-generation computer systems to explore and adapt to the capabilities of the devices on every standard module,” said the SPD Task Group. President Bill Gervasi said. which developed the specifications. “Weekly coordination between the JEDEC committees that define memory chips and memory modules is an essential part of ensuring the smooth development of the capabilities of both,” said JEDEC board chairman Mian Quddas. “These efforts have served the industry well, and we expect end users to be very pleased with the results.”
JEDEC is a global leader in the development of standards for the microelectronics industry. Thousands of volunteers representing over 340 member companies work together in over 100 JEDEC committees and working groups to meet the needs of every segment of the industry, manufacturers and consumers alike.
