Four in five (80%) of millennials now shop online, up from 60% just three years ago, with 56% shopping mostly on mobile devices – a jump from 36% from 2019.

These are the top findings from CouponFollow’s Millennial Shopping Habits Trends report. The report focused on the spending and saving habits of American consumers aged 25-40.

“Since our last report in 2019, events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing use of social media platforms have massively affected how millennials approach spending and saving. Millennials have an annual spending capacity of $2.5 trillion. Nearly 73% have changed the way they shop due to the pandemic while more than half (56%) have shifted online shopping away from physical stores, especially among older millennials (35-40 years old).
