Poly Edge E Series: a hybrid business desktop smartphone for work and work
The Poly Edge E Series IP Desktop Phones I already got several certifications, including that of Zoom Phone from the start.
In an interview with the University of California today, Gavin Sear, Director of Theatrical Product Marketing at PolyAnd the He said: “They’ve been certified by Zoom since day one, and we’ve also received ten other certifications for our service providers and all of our providers are really excited about these new desktop phones.”
The series consists of nine different desk phones, ranging from the E100 to the E550. Features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC (Near Field Communication), Poly NoiseBlockAI, voice fencing, text-to-speech options, font options, and Microban® Antimicrobial protection.
The capabilities of the Edge E series increase as the series number increases. For example, the Poly Edge E100 and E220 have 2-line and 4-line switches with a 2.8-inch screen, HD audio, NoiseBlockAI, Acoustic Fence, desk stand, and wall mount. By contrast, the E500 series has 12 line keys, a 5-inch screen that supports up to 48 lines, Bluetooth 5.0 (on the E550), NoiseBlockAI, Acoustic Fence, HD voice and bass amplifier.
Sear describes flexible publishing options for desktop phones: “TThe he Edge E series is designed for hybrid work and people who work in an ever-changing office.
You can easily pair your mobile phone and headset with these phones using the built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology. For those working at home, IT service providers can configure these phones while they’re in the box with their NFC tags. You don’t even need to take them out.
“You can configure these phones, so when you take one home, it will run smoothly and log you into your profile.”
Sear also highlights Polly’s thinking behind the introduction of a new hybrid desktop phone series. pointed to Data from Frost and Sullivan, which found that 47% of workers will be mixed-sex from now on and 30% of office space will be devoted to hotels or hot offices. They also predicted that about 30% of companies surveyed would provide desk phones to people who work from home.
Due to demand, which is reflected in these Frost and Sullivan reports, Poly decided to design a new desktop phone series suitable for hot desks, office and home work. It has also been designed with IT service providers in mind who will be able to customize phones for hybrid work.
Phone setup and support is made easy with Poly Lens integration. Poly Lens provides insights and visibility to help manage employee devices. It can be on board thousands of devices and provides easy access to accounts with role-based permissions. Critical to the Edge E series, it works with compatible devices no matter if they are at home or in the office.
Poly recently showcased its Edge E series at UC Expo, at which time it was also able to reveal its Zoom Phone certification. About the same time Polly also Advertise your Teams certification For the Poly G7500 video conferencing system and Teams certification for the Poly Studio X70 expected in November. Poly Studio X30 and X50 videos have also been re-credited.
Sir explained what sets the Edge E series apart from other VoIP desktop phones: “WWe’ve put in Microban technology, which provides protection for the life of the product, so it really reduces the risk of germs spreading.
“Another key feature is ease of use. If someone comes into the office with their Android mobile phone and wants to sit in a hot office environment, the office phone will detect the mobile phone and ask if you want to call. You can then seamlessly pair your mobile phone with the office phone.”
“Providers can even transfer your contacts to your office phone so you can take advantage of office phone audio features like NoiseBlock AI, Voice Fence, and Poly Voice Quality. This means you can use your office phone to improve the quality of your phone calls.”
